Davis Street Rising Main
PWS has successfully completed Stage 1 of the Davis Street Rising Main project for TasWater in Smithton. Stage 1 involved:
- The installation of a temporary DN375 PN16 bypass
- The realignment of pump station piping and valve controls, laying the groundwork for Stage 2 of the project.
Currently, Stage 2 works are underway, which include:
- Installation of 800 meters of DN500 PN16 pipeline
- 150 meters of horizontal directional drilling (HDD)
- The incorporation of air and scour valves.
The execution of Stage 2 requires meticulous planning to ensure the integrity of the existing rising main and coordination with numerous active underground services. PWS will conduct live cut-ins as part of the ongoing project progression.
