Don Irrigation Scheme
In 2023, PWS successfully completed the Don Irrigation Scheme, laying 58 km of pipelines ranging from DN160 to DN900. This included:
- 3 km of DN375 Ductile Iron Cement Lined (DICL) pipes
- 8 km of excavation, pipe laying, and backfilling
- Construction of 78 property outlets
- Installation of 88 air valves and 20 scour valves
- Provided mainline connections for the property outlets
- Thorough flushing and hydrostatic testing, adhering to our stringent quality system.
The project navigated challenging conditions such as steep terrain, rocky areas, and harsh Tasmanian winters. Despite these obstacles, we successfully delivered irrigation water to northwest Tasmania, furthering our commitment to excellence in infrastructure development.
