Swansea Potable Water Main Renewal

During the renewal of the Swansea Water Main, adjacent to the Tasman Highway on the southern extent of Swansea, PWS employed innovative techniques to reduce the number of joints from 175 to just 12. By adopting an HDPE solution as suggested by TasWater, we executed the project with minimal disruption to the local community and nearby tourism assets.

Careful removal of rock within 3 meters of the Tasman Highway was necessary to avoid damage to the road and private properties. We successfully installed 400 meters of DN160 HDPE pipeline, incorporating a pressure reducing valve (PRV), a reduced pressure zone device (RPZD), meter connections, and a Tasman Highway road crossing.
